Kelly is a singer songwriter with a heart for adventure. She shares and makes music with people wherever she goes. Kelly sees music as a powerful catalyst for connection and creating community with a strong belief that it was always meant to bring people together.
Her love for music and people has led her to volunteer with local community groups, run open mic’s and music collectives where people can play and write music together no matter their skill level.
First inspired to play music at aged 4 after seeing an old bush fiddler around a campfire in the Kimberleys, Kelly has gone on to become a multi-instrumentalist, playing in bands at Tamworth Country Music and Peak Music Festivals. She has also been privileged to play alongside elder and country music legend, Colin Hardy at several NAIDOC Week celebrations.

In 2018 Kelly completed Tamworth Academy of Country Music which started the ball rolling for her first official song release, “THE REAL DEAL” arranged by Kevin Bennett and recorded with Simon Johnson at the Hillbilly Hut. This song, alongside, “Bandaid and a Kiss,” a co-write with Allan Caswell, was debuted by Kelly in Brewarrina April 2019 with Lizzie Steadman at The River of Life Music Festival as part of a promotion for suicide prevention.
Kelly is connected with indigenous community and as an environmental educator shares a deep connection to the land of Australia. Whether she is skiing to the top of a mountain with her ukulele, hiking a desert cliff under moonlight with her guitar, or making up silly songs to make kids smile, Kelly is always writing songs inspired by the beauty around her.
As a teacher, Kelly has the ability to empower others to write songs and play music. She has written several children’s songs and teamed up with an ex-student Burra McHughes to write a song called “This River,” a song inspired by this young man’s passion to see his river and people restored.
This songbird has a uniquely Australian sound with a country gospel, folk feel, mixed with some jazzy blues influences at times. Her authentic straight from the heart songs warm the soul and evoke emotions, be it a laugh, a little cry or just a fresh sense of hope. Kelly Winning is THE REAL DEAL.
